South Dakota student journalists struggle to get information about campus lockdown

The South Dakota State University Collegian has voluntarily halted its lawsuit seeking a permanent injunction against the university’s board of regents because the presidential candidate interviews it sought to open have been completed.

A judge ordered Wednesday that student journalists should be allowed to sit in on interviews with a school’s presidential candidates after the board of regents attempted to have the meetings closed to all media.
