Tune in for our second webinar in the #MeToo series to learn how to use public records to report on campus sexual assault

We’re hosting another webinar live on our YouTube channel about reporting on sexual assaults on campus on Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. ET. This discussion will be focused on open records. We’ll be answering your questions about what kind of records you can look for, where to request them from and what to do if you run into problems. We’ll also show you the many resources available on our website, starting with our public records letter generator, to help you craft your records requests.

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out our first #MeToo webinar covering the basics of verification, defamation, liability and more. We heard from leaders of Indiana University’s student newspaper, the Indiana Daily Student, who talk about their year-long reporting of sexual assault on their campus.

What questions do you have about public records and sexual assault reporting? Send them along to our journalism fellow and we’ll get you the answers you need. If your question is more urgent, you can always use our legal hotline.
