Support Freedom of Expression

Alumni of the Glenbard East Echo (Lombard, Illinois) celebrated in May 2015. Now they have discovered that the event has national spin-offs in 2016. Articles about the influence of journalism for professionals and the need to support freedom of the press have appeared in Quill and Scroll Magazine and the Dow Jones News Fund’s Adviser Update. On Nov. 11, 2016, four Echo event participants will present a how-to workshop at a national journalism workshop in Indianapolis.

Best of all, alumni and friends of the Echo have another reason to support freedom of the press. Our Cantigny guest, SPLC’s executive director Frank LoMonte, helped Illinois become the 10th state to protect student freedom of expression. Celebrate by making a tax-deductible donation to the Student Press Law Center using the form below.

Awaken the nation to what all high school media alumni should do: donate to safeguard freedom of expression. Applaud the Illinois results. What a great way for freedom-loving Echo alumni and friends to support this strategic vision: New Voices for the nation.
