In honor of Mark Ionescu, a former journalism adviser who stood by his students at The John Carroll School in Bel Air, Maryland. He was removed from the position at the end of 2017 and continues to teach English. Students he advised from 2001-January 2018 work for news organizations that include CBS News, The Boston Globe, PBS and Condé Nast. They cite Ionescu as the reason they pursued careers in journalism.
