Anti-gay broadcast at Florida high school raises free expression concerns

A student broadcast project critical ofhomosexuality has raised questions about free speech and religious expression ata Miami High School.

But a teacher who made anti-gay comments in avideo segment is standing by her words. It is her right to express herreligion-based opinions on homosexuality, said Donna Reddick, a businesstechnology teacher at Miami Sunset Senior High School.

The videosegments ran three consecutive days in February and were broadcast throughoutthe school. The first two broadcasts featured students and teachers voicingtheir support for gays, according to an article inTheMiami Herald.
