WASHINGTON, D.C. — An attempt to change a policy regarding free speech has been thwarted at Georgetown University.
\n\n A committee studying the speech and expression policy decided this spring against a proposal that would have curbed distribution of anonymous publications.
\n\n The committee, comprised of students and faculty members, had drafted an addendum to the university’s policy on free speech and expression, which would have allowed anonymous publications to be confiscated from public places. The idea came partially in response to a controversial, anonymous publication that was printed and distributed in spring 2001.
