NEW YORK — A student at the State University of New York at Albany sued the university-affiliated Auxiliary Services Corp. in February after being repeatedly denied access to its board meetings.
\nThe student, Tony Gray, has received pro bono legal help but will represent himself. He previously won a suit against Hudson Valley Community College in 2001 to get access to bookstore invoices.
\nThe Auxiliary Services Corp. is a nonprofit company that runs the university’s food service and bookstore.
\nThe state Committee on Open Government issued an advisory opinion in December recommending that the company adhere to state open-meetings laws.
\nThe Auxiliary Services Corp. board consists of 11 faculty and staff members, eight students and one alumnus.
