ASNE provides resources for high school journalists covering terrorist attacks

As high school newspapers face the task of reporting on Tuesday’sterrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, the AmericanSociety of Newspaper Editors has devised a Webpage that offers valuable resources.

The ASNE’s site, highschooljournalism.org,includes story ideas, contact information and a list of photosavailable for reproduction.

In addition to offering these tips and resources, the Web siteprovides lesson plans for teachers and advisers and links to otherjournalism organizations that have created similar Web pages forprofessional journalists.

The ASNE has also established the rights to reprint a limitednumber of photographs. Six photos of the World Trade Center fromthis summer and pictures and graphics of the World Trade Centerand Pentagon during and after the attacks are available. All newspapersusing the images must credit the photographer.
