The parents of a California high school student are suing the Lompoc Unified School District for libel and invasion of privacy, claiming that an article published in the school newspaper contained false accusations of alcoholism and abuse within the family.
Sixteen-year-old Cabrillo High School student Christina Reyes and her parents sued the school district after an article about divorce that was published in the March 2000 issue of the student newspaper allegedly reported that Reyes said her father physically abused her mother and molested her sister.
Reyes
