For the second time this school year, nearly an entire issue of a Georgetown University student newspaper was removed from distribution sites.
Nearly 5,000 copies of the Feb. 25 Georgetown Voice were stolen in the early morning hours of Feb. 26, according to Voice editor in chief Nicole Gesualdo. The Voice, Georgetown’s liberal paper, is one of three student publications at the university. The theft cost the publication an estimated $1,400 in printing costs.
In October, thieves took 3,500 copies of the Georgetown Academy, the school’s conservative paper.
Unlike the October incident where school officials were criticized for failing to denounce the taking, the university has launched an investigation into the Voice theft.
