Complaint dismissed against Schroeder

WASHINGTON — The state Superintendent of Public Instruction has ended the investigation into Val Schroeder of Stanwood High School.Schroeder, former adviser to the student newspaper, had been under scrutiny after school district superintendent Raymond Reid filed a complaint with the state superintendent, alleging “certain misconducts.”Last November, Schroeder was notified that the complaint was dismissed without prejudice.Meanwhile, Schroeder’s own legal action against the Stanwood School District, the superintendent and the school principal is proceeding. A trial date has been set for April 6, 1998.Schroeder claims she lost her adviser position to the Spartan Spectrum because of an article about bestiality that appeared in the paper.
