Becoming a Partner with the SPLC
As a not-for-profit organization, the Student Press Law Center is entirely dependent on donations from
interested individuals and organizations who are committed to its work. In fact, approximately half of the
SPLC's annual budget comes directly from student journalists and journalism advisers who believe in the SPLC
mission. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, your contribution is tax deductible.
To make a secure online contribution using your credit card, please visit our donor page at NetworkForGood.org. (Contributions can be made in honor or in memory of the individual(s) of your choice as well.)
Or you can mail a check or money order to:
Student Press Law Center
1101 Wilson Blvd., Suite 1100
Arlington, VA 22209-2275 USA
Giving opportunities
In addition to supporting the ongoing operating costs of the SPLC, givers can contribute to specific SPLC programs:
The Louis Ingelhart Journalism Internship, created as a memorial to the Ball State University journalism professor who was a longtime SPLC Board member and First Amendment advocate, allows a college student journalist or recent graduate to spend a semester with the SPLC gathering information about student press freedom issues around the nation and writing about them for our Web site and magazine. See our internship information page for details.
The David Adams Student Press Freedom Fund, created as a memorial to the Indiana University media adviser, lifelong student press freedom advocate and SPLC board member, supports the SPLC's work advising and defending student journalists and their advisers in their battles to publish free from censorship. Read more about Adams.
The SPLC Endowment, created as result of a challenge grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, is to ensure the ongoing work of the SPLC as an advocate for the future of press freedom. For more information, see our Tomorrow's Voices page.
To make a contribution to any of these specific programs, please use the name of the program in the designation field on the Web giving form or in the memo line of your check.
